BİLGESAM Statement on July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day

The coup attempt of July 15, 2016, which targeted the will of our nation, the democratic order, and the constitutional institutions of the Republic of Türkiye, was defeated through the determined resistance of our people.

On that night, our nation upheld the principle that “Sovereignty unconditionally belongs to the nation” and demonstrated a historic resistance against the assault on democracy, the rule of law, and our national independence.

As BİLGESAM, we commemorate the martyrs of July 15 with mercy, gratitude, and respect, and we extend our deepest appreciation to our veterans. We once again emphasize the importance of strengthening Türkiye’s democratic institutions, preserving national unity and solidarity, and maintaining public awareness against similar threats.

We hope that our nation’s commitment to unity, solidarity, and democracy will always remain strong.

We have not forgotten, and we will never forget.
